About… You.
Maybe you’re feeling defeated, afraid, or abashed. Maybe life’s got you nervous or antsy at what it’s throwing at you. You might be overloaded or uneasy.

You could have so much on your plate that you’re concerned, fearful, or intimidated. You’ve got so much work to do that you’re discouraged and overburdened. Or family life has you disheartened or just plain perplexed.
Or maybe you’re one of the 75% of Americans today who are just stressed out. Plain and simple, no thesaurus necessary. Just. Stressed. Out.
And that’s okay.
Ever watch The West Wing? I highly recommend it not just for the stories and comedy and drama, but also for the hope. Here’s just one small example, with Leo McGarry, a recovering alcoholic, talking to Josh Lyman, newly diagnosed with PTSD after being shot, about why Josh still has a job working for the President despite his diagnosis.
“This guy’s walking down the street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep he can’t get out. A doctor passes by and the guy shouts up, ‘Hey you. Can you help me out?’ The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole and moves on.
Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up, ‘Father, I’m down in this hole can you help me out?’ The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on
Then a friend walks by, ‘Hey, Joe, it’s me can you help me out?’ And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, ‘Are you stupid? Now we’re both down here.’ The friend says, ‘Yeah, but I’ve been down here before and I know the way out.'”
Y’all c’mon now and work with me. I’ve been down here before, and I know the way out.
Great, so who are you?

Hi, I’m Kriss, and I’m a mindset and motivation coach helping busy, stressed out moms overcome overwhelm, de-stress and reassess, so they can find their focus, define their goals, create actionable plans, and go forth as new Positivity Powerhouses in their own right.
I’ve built Positivity Powerhouse on top of more than 30 years’ experience in the mental health field. Not as a practitioner, mind you; I don’t have the alphabet soup after my name. My experience is that of a person who lives with mental illness; I have for about 37 years as of this writing.
I’ve struggled for decades with bipolar disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social phobia, OCD, and a host of other anxiety disorders. I’ve had to learn a wide variety of survival mechanisms, skills, and techniques for dealing with this crazy old world. I draw from a variety of faith traditions, psychological and sociological data, the humanities, the arts, and more for both inspiration and practical steps to take to empower myself to not only cope with my life and the world I live in, but also to thrive and share my knowledge with others.

“So what’s a mindset and motivation coach? What do you actually DO?”
Both good questions! I help you figure out where you’re stuck – because, face it, we all get stuck now and then.
Once we’ve got that handled, I help you find ways to unstuck yourself. I’m not a therapist or a psychologist, and I’m not a doctor in any way, shape, or form. I won’t tell you what to do; you know you way better than I ever could, so any advice I might offer about anything could do more harm than good. And that’s absolutely not what I want. I guide you to help you find the answers for yourself.
And that’s super important, because then you know that they’re YOUR answers. YOU found them, and YOU know how to implement them. It’s absolutely, positively, 100%ly about YOU achieving the goals and outcomes YOU want.
More focus to figure out what the next best step is? YOU got it.
Better mood when you’re with your family? YOU got it.
Less stress while you’re at work? YOU got it.
Extra accountability for your goals, projects, and plans? YOU got it.
Deeper understanding and less overwhelm as you move through your day? YOU got it.
Me? I’m just here to provide a gentle nudge to help you along the way.

My manifesto:
Hi, I’m Kriss, and I’m the Positivity Powerhouse.
What’s a Positivity Powerhouse? I can tell you what it’s not. It’s not a fakey-schmakey overbleached smile telling you it’s all going to be ok.
It’s not fiddling while life burns down around your ears.
And it’s not Insta-perfect fake positivity where nothing’s ever wrong and everything’s just super, thanks for asking!
A Positivity Powerhouse can use language to flip-turn a situation upside down
A Positivity Powerhouse has an awesome sense of humor and can use it to laugh at herself.
A Positivity Powerhouse knows how to give motivational kicks in the ass without them being condescending or dismissive.
A Positivity Powerhouse shares generously despite anxiety, depression, panic, or mania, because she knows she will inspire others.
So I’m the Positivity Powerhouse.
Helping people tilt their head sideways, squint their eyes, and then look at their situation is a necessity.
Showing folks the absurdity that runs through everything in life is a necessity, and helping them learn to laugh at themselves is, too.
So is sounding my barbaric YAWP over the rooftops of the world.
And searching for the ananda – the joy – in everything is, too.
So are Netflix breaks.
Flamingos all over my room.
Sticky notes.
And rhinos.
I will do no harm, but take no shit.
I will dare greatly and give no fucks.
So mote it be.
